Whiphand was a buck we knew we wanted to retain as soon as we bred his dam Whimsy. Both sides of his pedigree are excelling in the show ring all across the United States! His paternal side is a deep pedigree of EX mammaries and the most beautiful fore udders. While Whimsy, Whip’s dam, has a mammary injury that has kept her from her full potential she has proven to produce very successful progeny. If every doe in our herd looks like Whimsy with the beautiful mammaries in this pedigree, we would be ecstatic! Whiphand was collected, but his straws are currently sold out. We do plan on collecting him again in the future.

Hydro is AI sired by CH Pleasant-Grove Flash Freeze and it was a breeding we knew we would likely keep a buckling from when we made the appointment for the breeding. Flash Freeze is a finished champion himself with several young daughters showing well in the midwest. Flash Freeze is out of a CH EX92 EEEE dam and the 2nd generation ELITE & Premier Sire, Pleasant-Grove RR Freeze Frame. Hydro's dam, Joslyn, is one of our favorite does to see come into the milk room. She has a productive well attached udder that milks like a dream. I really admire Joslyn's length of body. Last year, she had a 2400lb lactation with a single doe kid (Whipped Honey), who was our 2nd place Junior Kid at the '23 Kansas State Fair. I really look forward to seeing this JR herdsire incoorperated into our herd.

Twisted Whip is out of our foundation doe. Maple Wind Romeo Tessa, and by a son of another very influential foundation doe, Maple Wind Golden Whimsy. Tessa kidded with Twisted's litter at 11yrs old! We love the longevity Tessa shows and hope to continue that throughout the herd. Tessa scored EX in mammary at 5 years old with 42 in RUH and 37 in FU! Her udder has held on through her lifetime of production! It is still lovely to look at and well above the hocks at 11 years old! We are hoping to get her official milk star this final lactation (she met milk requirments last year, but they weren't official through the registry). Tessa is definitely a doe we would like to spread around a bit more. Twisted's sire, Whiphand, is out of our big beautiful doe Whimsy and by the full brother to the '21 National Champion/Best Udder Alpine/EX94 EEEE doe GCH Kara-Kahl PGW Akebono 9*M. Whiphand's first '23 daughters are lovely to look at! They should both freshen Spring '24 as yearlings. Twisted's paternal sister, Acorn-Sky LFH Whipped Honey, was shown at the '23 Kansas State Fair in the Jr Kid class. She placed 2nd in a nice class behind the RCH JR doe from her paternal grand dam Whimsy's originating herd. I have high hopes for the other Whiphand daughters coming up! Twisted Whip is a combination of our foundation does and we hope with a heavier inbreeding coefficient he will help set our type across the herd moving forward.
