A Bit About Snips

Snips was very badly attacked by a dog 2 weeks before her first kidding in 2022. We thought we were going to lose her and her kids. Miraculously, she held on to her babies until her due date despite not standing on her feet since the attack. We planned on getting her through the pregnancy, not milking her, and focusing on trying to rehabilitate her that year. Again, she surprised us the morning after she kidded by standing up in her stall to greet us! We started milking her and we really love her mammary! It is high and wide with a beautiful fore udder as we would expect from the generations of EX mammaries on her sire's side. She does have a lot of nerve damage and walks very wobbly now. Along with having nerve damage, she has weak ligaments in her legs after being down so long. She's back with the herd and loving life, but she has permanent damage from the attack.
